2.4.1.7. Rename site

Attention!

To change the site name, you will need to delete and re-add all of its subdomains.
  1. Register a new domain (if not already registered).
  2. Using the file manager or any FTP client in the root directory of your hosting account, rename the site directory from the old domain name to the new one.
  3. Open the "My sites" section.
  4. Delete the site with the old name (including all its subdomains, if present)
  5. Add a site with a new name (and subdomains, if they were present)
  6. Important! If the site is linked to a domain address, replace the old address with the new one and correct the paths in the site's configuration files or database (specific actions depend on the type of site, for example: WordPress, OpenCart, PrestaShop).
  7. Check the site operation.
  8. If the site had mailboxes and they also need to be transferred to the new domain with the messages preserved:
    1. Create a mail domain with a new name.
    2. Create the same mailboxes for the new mail domain as for the old one.
    3. Transfer messages from mailboxes in the old mail domain to mailboxes in the new domain: directly between mailboxes or using export and import.
    4. Delete the old mail domain.
