Notes:

  • The AAAA record is used by domain clients only if they have a configured IPv6 address. In such a case, the default connection will be via IPv6.
  • In AAAA records, it is not possible to specify a port or a specific URL to which the request will be directed.

The AAAA (Address) record contains the IP address of the server from which the domain or subdomain should be opened. An IPv6 address must be used as the address.

In the case of adding multiple AAAA records for a single name, a random record (DNS round-robin) from the added ones will be returned. In some cases, this allows for the configuration of a primitive load balancer.
